Live Better with Leslie

Since opening our bay doors in 2012, Thomasville CrossFit continuously forges toward building a stronger and healthier community here in our beloved town. As a partner with Live Better – Thomas County, an initiative led by Archbold that’s focused on improving the health of our citizens, we love being part of a challenge that shares our same mission.

On Monday, June 3rd, Live Better – Thomas County kicked off a new program titled LB Fit, which is a 25-week wellness program comprised of 10 participants from local gyms with the intention of reducing obesity and improving overall health among the group. Each participant has undergone free screenings, blood panels, measurements, and met with a licensed dietician as part of the process. To learn more about the LB Fit program, click here.

Thomasville CrossFit’s LB Fit participant is Leslie Strickland! Leslie has been with us for a bit, always works hard, and is committed to making sure those around her have a good time in class. She greets everyone with a genuine smile and never takes herself too seriously – I can hear her warm laugh now. Leslie is rounding out her 2nd week in the challenge and doing awesome! Her first week was a little bumpy as she recently returned from vacation, but she jumped right in and even worked on some mid-week meal prep to get herself set up for success. Leslie’s mom gave her the cookbook, Cook Once Eat All Week by Cassy Joy Garcia, NC, which is 26 weeks of gluten-free meal prep recipes to help her save time while reaching her nutrition goals. The book gives suggestions to make meals gluten-free, Paleo, low-carb, dairy-free, and more! So far, she’s following the first week of recipes and enjoying it.

We will keep you posted on Leslie’s progress and share any tasty recipes or tips she finds along the way, but to follow Leslie’s journey week by week, click here! When you see Leslie in the box or around town, give her a fist bump or high five and some words of support! It takes courage to put yourself out there and share your journey with the world. We can’t wait to see your progress, Leslie! Keep up the hard work!
