Recipe: Orange Vanilla Cream Protein Shake

Serves 1

As a macronutrient, protein plays an important role in the health of your bones and muscles – and helps repair tissues, boosting your recovery if consumed post-workout. When eating protein, I always choose a whole food as my first option (chicken, turkey, beef, venison, fish, eggs). But sometimes I get busy or it’s just not convenient to sit down and eat a chicken breast. That’s when making a protein shake saves the day. Most of the time, I just mix my protein with water post-workout, but if I’m in need of a balanced snack or meal in a hurry – I’ll blend my protein powder with other whole foods to give me some tasty, quick fuel.

Ingredients:

  • 2 scoops of Progenex Tropical Vanilla Recovery protein (PROTEIN)
  • 8 oz. of unsweetened coconut milk (FAT)
  • 1 cup of spinach (EXTRA VITAMINS & MINERALS)
  • 1 mandarin orange, peeled and seeds removed (if any) (CARBOHYDRATE)

Directions:

  1. Add all ingredients to blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy immediately!

Note: To make this more like a smoothie, add some ice before blending! Other vanilla protein powders will work with this recipe, but if you’re interested in purchasing Progenex – chat with Coach Nick, Lucas or myself!
